Feeling Better

Although i am still dealing with the same crap, i am coping much better. It was nice to vent and share my thoughts. Everyone has been very supportive. I only have 4 more sessions to go and i cant wait to have a Margarita.

We saw the plastic surgeon and along with my new boob, i get a lift on the other side and they use the fat from my stomach and butt if needed. So i get a new boob, lift, tummy tuck, and possible lipo. I am not the plastic surgery type, but when given lemons, might as well make lemonade...

Today Sucks

I think i finally hit the wall. Unfortunately it is the cancer wall and not the marathon wall. I am tired, my eyelashes are falling out, my nose wont stop bleeding, the Social Security office wont answer the phone, the steroids wont let me sleep and make me feel like i am starving to death, i am to tired to run, I hate complaining and i don't want to make my friends listen to me bitch, i am making my poor husband do everything and i am worried he is going to go off the deep end soon, i have no energy to play with my kids, my skin is freaking out, and i could go on forever, but does it really matter? I still have to deal with this crap, but life goes on. Right?

Sorry, not one of my usualy happy go lucky blogs. I am sure i will feel better tomorrow!

New Treatment

I went for my first treatment of Taxol. Although it took forever, i had no allergic reactions. I have eleven more treatments and have to go once a week instead of every other Monday. So my last day of treatment is on my birthday, July 23... I will have surgery 3 weeks after that and start radiation 4 weeks after that. I feel pretty good today, but the side effects show up on the 4th day and consist of joint pain, but i am not complaining because i don't feel nauseous and my hair could start growing back. Very excited.

If I were to make an Academy Awards Speech...

Although i am only eight weeks into my eight month saga, I would like to give a big thanks to everyone who has helped me thus far. First my mom who came from Cali, left my dad who has his own battle with MS to fight, and has been here for six weeks. I would also like to thank Bab's (mother of Travis), Linda Fleming (Sam's grandma), Debbie and Charlie, (Sam's other family)and Laura (lowa/Iowa) for filling in until my mom could get here. I would like to thank everyone who has provided us with dinners, especially the people who went way out of there way to accommodate my strict dietary needs.

I would like to thank my niece for staying with my dad so my mom could come out here and all there friends who have been helping with food, transportation, and keeping him company. I want to thank Stephanie for watching Gavin while having my infusions, neighbors (especially Maria and Heather) and all our friends for doing research and giving lots of support. Jerri for being with me when i found out and preparing Sam's school lunches. The girls who have provided the incredible house cleaning fund, the tennis team for all the hats, scarves, and stash of cash in my G-string...and to all my fan's who have continually kept me laughing with there blogs.

I would also like to give a big thanks to my dad and the Deering's for sharing my mom, to all of Travis' friends who have supported him, Sam's Teacher Chris who has been a huge support to her, Aiden for shaving his head with me, and to everyone else that has helped us through this difficult time.

And with this I gladly accept my Academy Award

PS I forgot the most important person of all, my husband. Thank you for your unconditional love, your endless support, for being an exceptional daddy, and for still loving me regardless if I am boobless and hairless. You are my rock Sparky and I thank God everyday you took a chance on me.

Hi

I didn't want anyone to have withdrawals this week, but i am feeling so well i have been "nesting." If you don't know what nesting is, you are probably a man, but that is okay we still love ya!!!! Any who, I am spring cleaning and getting rid of all the CRAP in our house. It is amazing how fast things accumulate when I am the only one who knows where things go. Nothing against Travis or my mom , they are great cleaners, but difficult to put the thumb tack away when you haven't a clue where it came from.

Gavin is getting so big so fast. He is eight months old and 21.5 pounds. Twice the size of my little string bean Sammy at that age. He is doing the Marine belly crawl which gets him in all kinds of trouble, he is eating like it was a bad habit, and he is no longer sleeping in his crib due to his persistence in getting his arms and legs stuck in the bars.

Sammy is getting ready for the Opera at her school, she is an Angel of course, and is taking a fitness class which is giving her a six-pack. Maybe i should join her on those days. She had her first lemonade stand this week and our little entrepreneur neighbor thought $5 was a perfect price. I love this kind of thinking. At this rate they can pay for their own college.

P.S. Sammy said if she is a string bean then Gavin is a lima bean...

Have a great week

The "it"

The "Benatar" family
This is not the final wig, but a cheap substitute until I can find the Lola. I think Gavin takes the cake, with Travis a close second. Have a great weekend. Travis and I are off to the Highlands for our anniversary while Grandma gets to spend some time with the little ones.

To all my faithful followers...

I apologize for not posting sooner. I myself have been undergoing BA (blog anonymous) treatment due to my excessive need to check what my followers have written. I am doing better and should be back to normal writing on Monday. Thanks for all your support.

Actually, i am doing great. I was able to run a few times this week and my mom and i have tried to walk everyday since it has been so beautiful here in A-town. I received a wig today. Since i want to hit cancer with my best shot, i choose the Pat Benatar. I am still considering the lola for Travis, but not very practical with an 8 month old. I can only imagine us grocery shopping and he decides to pull it off my head. I might frighten some poor little kid.

Here are a few pictures of Travis having a great time shaving my head. I think he is enjoying this way to much. I will post a picture of my new wig when Travis gets home.

Talk to you all soon and Happy Easter
