Round Two

We started off with lab work, then the visit with the doctor, squeezed in an Echo (that measures heart rhythms) with a large Russian nurse who didnt like my jokes, then went down for chemo. Everything looks good so far including the decrease in size of my tumor. They decided to give me a new nausea medication that definitely works, but it knocked me out 10 minutes into the chemo. Nice for me, but not so nice for Laura. After 8 hours of being at the Cancer Institute, it was nice to get home and see the kids.

Today i go get my shot and then i am good to go for another two weeks. If we could just get all 15 of my medications correct, i would be doing excellent.

Talk to you soon and thank for all the great posts.

Laura:
I am obviously an idiot. What is that "Eco" that you mention? Am I going to feel ashamed when it is some horrible thing that everyone else says "Oh My God" and I'm like wanting more information? You said that you "squeezed it in". Did that hurt? As a man, do I have to squeeze in an Eco as well? Does Travis? It sounds hideous. My knowledge of all things oncological <---(made up word)is zippo.

By the way, I guesss your shot was that 6k thingee. I got my 6k shot at Starbucks. You probably got better service....

Hi everyone. Anyone here? (wind whistles through the blog)

Great news, Laura... can't tell you how happy it makes Karen and me. Sounds like a long day, though, so a little snooze in the process is a good thing!

Tell those guys to give me a call if they need a consult on the medications. After all, I got my MD online, remember?

We love you,

Robert and Karen

Wow, what happened to everybody? Did you all go blog-crack rehab? The visit with Laura was great. The first three days she was feeling fine (except maybe a little tired) and we got to go running and shopping and just hang out. Then on monday her "infusion" or "treatment" (apparently the hospital doesn't like to call it "chemo"). Like Laura said, she slept the whole time. So much for the promises of card games and general goofiness. And I didn't even get to experience Kevin! He already had too many patients by the time we got in there, so he couldn't take Laura. But I did get to meet him afterwards. (Ok, this time the blog isn't giving me a word limit... weird.) But enough about me... just wanted to let everyone know that Laura was doing great.

Hey, Glad your girls had a good time. Laura it must have been nice to get away, go to Georgia and not have anyone little ones asking you to get them milk or wipe their butt. (Just Kidding, but seriously anytime I get away from my little ones that is what makes me the most happy to get a break from)

Well I didn't see any stories on Fox News that two crazy girls, one with hair and one without were causing a stir in Georgia, so that is good I guess.

Laura V. I am glad you got to have some fun you deserve it and I hope you are feeling okay. Oh hey wait a minute-should I be calling you Lola now, did you get the wig?

Hi, my name is Camryn, and I'm a recovering blog addict. Yes I mean recovering since the last post was way over a week ago!!! Laura...where are you? I at least get some info by third party (via Babs), but I feel sorry for those that are aimlessly checking the blog to no avail! I guess it pays to have a relative living with you (sorry for you though it has to be Travis!) Just Kidding! I hope the lack of info is due to you feeling so good that you're too busy to write. I hear that new med is working well on the nausea...Lord knows I couldn't deal with that part of it!
We're constantly thinking of you and always keeping you in our prayers. I promise to only check the blog once, maybe twice, okay, three times a day...I swear!
Love, Camryn

Hey, Laura
It's Babs (for all those other bloggers who only know me as Travis' mother). I am so glad to hear that you are doing much better this round. You are unbelievable. Travis said you ran three miles. Go Irongirl! I miss your smile and the call of the baby.
Your mom told me that you are now totally bald and look like Demi. I know you look beautiful. Take care of yourself! You are in our prayers daily.

We love you lots.

This is like having a favorite show canceled...where is our daily entertainment? Are you doing an "8 day marathon" or something? Tell Travis that Grant got to high five Joakin Noah in a parking lot right after they returned to Gainesville Tuesday...hot stuff huh! Love you Laura.

Laura,

Glad to hear of your progress you are constantly in our thoughts.

I usually communicate through my wife, like every good husband! However the allure of being published was just too much!!

Truthfully though, I just wanted to say hello to you and Travis. Give Sam and Gavin a big hug for us.

All the Best,Paddy McBlogger (Camryn's husband).

I think Laura imposed her own intervention on all of us blog-addicts. Or perhaps she's been going to blog-anon herself (for those of you who just said "Huh?" its a take-off on Al-anon, the family/friend's support group spin-off of Alcoholics Anonymous), as she IS the enabler of all of us.
